Flu/Pneumonia Shots at Doelger
Senior Center
Tuesday, October 19, Room 14, 9:00am - 12:00pm
The San Mateo County Health Officer decided that the county will no longer offer
Flu Clinics for Seniors but will offer free mass vaccinations in December at 8
locations, 2 possibly in Daly City.
However, the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) will make shots available under
the following conditions: Flu shots will no longer be
available for a $5 donation. Medicare billing will be available for flu &
pneumonia vaccinations for seniors who do not belong to an HMO.
Seniors who belong to an HMO (such as Kaiser, Secure
Horizons, Health Plan of SM) have the choice of obtaining a flu vaccination from
their HMO physician or receive the shots at Doelger at a charge of $25.
Pneumonia vaccine for those not eligible for Medicare billing will be available
for $45.
Important note to seniors: If you do not take the
flu shots on October 19 at Doelger Senior Center, please bring your Medicare
Card or $25, or wait for the free mass vaccination on a Saturday in December -
perhaps at Doelger.
