Annuities and Retirement. Annuities can be a very important part of retirement. Anyone receiving pension payments would tell you what a big role they play in their retirement. Most people receiving lifetime pension payments are probably unaware they are receiving annuity payments or that there are other types of annuities. Come hear Eugene McAlister (CA Lic. #OC11540), an independent insurance agent specializing in the use of annuities, explain the differences between the types of annuities used for retirement. This informational class and insurance sales presentation will focus on information only. No company products will be presented or promoted. So, relax and bring your questions! 1pm, room 5.

Find out how computer technology has changed today’s travel landscape: check travel websites which can enrich your travel experience. Sites will direct you to affordable travels for seniors, singles, and learning vacations for brainy tours, lodging tips that can save time and money, how to make the most cost-effective use of travel literature and the Internet . Presentation is based partly on Arthur Frommer’s budget guide of the same title. 11am, room 3.

Medicare: Time to review your drug coverage for 2011. The Annual Election Period is November 15-December 31 and allows seniors to buy or change their existing prescription or Medicare Advantage plan. During the presentation, HICAP Community Outreach Coordinator, Christina Kahn, will review original Medicare, Medicare Supplements, and prescription drug plans. Plus, offering beneficiaries assistance locating the most cost effective insurance plans by doing a drug search for client. Please bring medication list to presentation. “Happiness and Health” is the topic to be discussed by Sandra Solis-Johnsen, who is a member of our Doelger staff.
